Guided tours of Maredsous Abbey

Maredsous Abbey can conduct guided tours (bilingual, French-Dutch):

• In July – August, daily (except Friday), at 2:00 and 4:00 PM
  Price: €2.5 per person – Children under 12 free of charge
• All Sundays at 2:30 PM
  Price: €2.5 per person – Children under 12 free of charge
• The rest of the year, by reservation only (by telephone, e-mail or fax)
  Per group of 25 persons at least (price:  €2 per person) or for a flat-rate of €50

Our tours start at the esplanade of the Saint Joseph Visitors Centre, where a guide will take you through the private domain of the monks: you will thus be able to discover the abbey, the monks’ cemetery, the library, the monks’ garden, the ceramics shops, the dairy (from the outside)… Our guided tours take about one hour and fifteen minutes.

A 20-minute film in French and Dutch is projected free of charge upon request from visitors in a room of the Saint Joseph Visitors Centre designed for this purpose: it shows the life of the monks and the history of Maredsous, Saint Benedict, etc.
